I searched beginner espresso to begin with… this item shows it’s not an often returned item. Bonus. Performance kicks it out the water, small compact size you can keep on the counter top. This simple espresso maker does a terrific job making great coffee, it's easy to clean and fun to work with as you learn how to froth milk. It's well-made and will last a long time. Also I sent out a "feeler" email asking about service and parts, and someone got back to me the next day, so this maker has possibilities for a long life and excellent service
HOWEVER ...
It must be noted that the control knob is attached to the boiler via a plastic arm, which can be broken. If you are like me and switch from brewing coffee to getting steam for frothing be careful! Moving the control know around when the unit still is hot can result in breakage, as the picture shows you. Let the device cool before frothing to removed any resistance the control knob may encounter. However, if you experience a device-killing break with the control knob keep reading ...
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OUTSTANDING!
I contacted them via their email address, and on the same they I was contacted back with a promise to ship me a new one without the need to return the damaged one. Six days later on Easter Sunday afternoon Amazon delivered the new coffee maker, and all is well. Great customer service! These people live up to their promise!
FINAL NOTE ABOUT FROTHING
I suggest buying an electric frother instead of using steam, which takes a bit of practice and requires switching the control around. Here is a link to one I purchased, and the output of this is perfect and gives you plenty of rich froth effortlessly
