Sweet kicks that get the job done. I had been using the ride 5's for a bit more than a year for training and mid-range races, and i had always been happy. They tended to reach the ends of their lives for me around 325-350 miles (i'm about 190 lbs. And tall), but they provided good support and were light for both training and longer races. Feels like the ride 6 should be about the same and you don't really notice the small increase in weight from the ride 5.

I ran 11 miles in the ride 6 straight out the box and had an enjoyable experience. Good support and cushion, while feeling light for a trainer. Also, they had good flexibility in the soles. Despite others' reviews, i feel the toebox is bit looser than my past ride 5's. Love the style of these though.

New shoes. The saucony men's ride 6 running shoe is great. It has a solid foundation to support my foot and all the running. Having the right size makes a huge difference as well (had wrong size on last pair). This is my second pair of saucony running shoes.

Saucony are great quality shoes. Bought these for my son. His second pair of ride's. He had the ride 5 and these seem to be just as good. He runs up to 50 miles a week for xc and these provide better cushioning to protect his feet than the kinvara he had before.

He went too long on his kinvara before telling me he needed new shoes, and a stress fracture was the probable result. Saucony makes well built shoes and the tread wears out long before the uppers.

Good feel, tight toe box. I've been running in the saucony ride series for years, a few marathons and halfs. These are by far the lightest rides and very comfortable. They have a good combination of cushion, flexibility and support. My big beef though is the toe box is much narrower than the previous version of the ride (4).

My big toe sometimes gets a little pinched. So these shoes are great from 3-10 milers but i would not run a half or full in them. Hopefully the next version will have a wider toe box. Overall though, saucony is a great shoe.

I like regular running shoes rather than minimal shoes. Overall, a neutral cushion shoe works best for me. Update 2/13/14: i've logged 550 miles so far on the ride 6 (3 pairs) and my issue has been and still is that they wear out really fast. So i love them at first, but after two or three weeks they suck and i hate them because shoes should last longer than 100 miles. I run 70 miles a week and this shoe plays a critical role in my rotation.

I normally run in saucony virattas, which is saucony's zero drop, 7oz 'minimalist' trainer. Still lower than the traditional 12-13mm heel height found in shoes like the saucony hurricane, brooks glycerin, or asics gel cumulus. This shoe reminds me of the much-beloved brooks launch, which i ran my second marathon in, about 5 years ago. Little or no ground feel but super flexible enough to provide a very smooth and forgiving ride, with a nice sturdy carbon rubber outsole instead of the lighter weight foam outsole found in shoes like the viratta and kinvara. The wider outsole and heavier weight created a reassuringly stable feeling, although it was also obvious to me that sustaining high speeds using a higher cadence (as opposed to longer strides, which these shoes are very good at) would be much more difficult in the ride than the virrata, and doing any long steep uphills would likely be not fun at all in these.

So, i plan to cycle the ride into my shoe rotation for easy/recovery days and for bi-monthly long runs of 15-25 miles. The ride 6 by saucony is a great all around running shoe. The longest distance that i have ran with it so far is 5 miles, and the shoe was comfortable the entire distance. The only reason i didn't give a 5 star rating, is because the shoes are a little more bulky than i expected. Still a great shoe overall.

It's now my favorite athletic shoe, and i will probably order another pair at this price. These shoes do run about half a size small, they will feel tight, as if your socks are too thick but that works for me to keep my foot better supported, and it's not unbearable.

And that then lead to a different problem: these shoes were too comfortable while running so that i then had shinsplintz or something like that and was barely able to walk for three weeks, but i think this is just my own overdoing the running given how out of shape i am and how i overdid the workout. If you have underpronation issues i highly recommend these shoes but just ease back in to running if you are out of shape. I wear it today for the first time during my long run (12 miles) and found it impressive. Men's ride 6 is a great shoe. I bought this shoe as my training shoe for my second marathon i was training for.

The shoes felt as if they were molded to my feet and i did not feel any discomfort, beyond the normal distance running discomfort that comes with running a long distance. The netting within the front of the shoes allows your feet to breath and the high back of the shoes also gave great stability. The following points were listed within the description of the shoe and i would agree with all of the following features of the shoe; at just 10 ounces, the guide 7 is lightweight and flexible with a breathable mesh-and-leather upper. Granted i'm coming from lighter more flexible shoes so i'm hoping these will break in soon and i will get a little more longevity and cushion for the long haul. I have always been a nike pegasus 28 and 29 guy, and was reluctant to try anything else, until i needed a new pair of training shoes and saw the price on these and decided for the price 'why not' i'm not married to nike.

I was pleasantly surprised on how light and comfortable these shoes were, and for some reason you just feel faster when you power walk and run in these shoes. Great alternative to nike's especially when the price is right. I love it, i run very well, are my favorites, i have other 8 shoes for running buy this are the best. I wore several successive models of saucony progrid jazz line, which has been discontinued, and i found saucony ride to replace it. I'm giving this shoe 4 stars as i would be in love with it; however, in just a few runs on the road, the soles are getting annihilated. I'll keep this as my treadmill shoe as it seems to do fine there, but i have to admit i had higher expectations of it lasting more than literally a couple runs. This is my 4th pair in the ride series and first of the ride 6.

I loved this shoe so much after five 3-5 mile runs that i immediately went back to get a second pair.

Great shoe. I don't do any tough mudders or extreme trail races but instead use these as my go to shoes when coaching my kids in sports. They are incredibly comfortable and very well made. Best part is if they get muddy you just hose them off and let them hang dry. I own 2 pairs and one set is over a year old and has held up great.

I throw a lot of bp and normally wear out the toe on my right shoe as i drag it when pitching. These have reinforced toe box and they show no sign of giving out anytime soon. The lace system is fantastic, took a few times to get used to it but is a great design. Top notch materials used. Couldn't be ahppier.

After running few trails and tough madders in my brooks pure grits, my friend talked me in to signing up for the spartan race. And yes they are much tougher than the tough mudder, i did both), i decided i probably need better pair of trail shoes for hard core obstacle races. I order size 12, it's what i normally wear in running shoes (brooks are my favorite running shoes), my regular size is 11. I was a little wary about my feet and legs since it was the first time since i used this shoes. During the four hours race, i never got a single chance to readjust my shoes, but the synch shoelaces held up flawlessly without any give.

The shoe sole pattern is great, spikes are facing in different direction on the hill and mid to front sole. I putted my shoes back on and we started another race, for three hours this time. I was much tired this time around and my legs are starting to feel like jell-o, but the shoes kept me well planted. :)if you don't read the review, at least read this:there were so many athletes on the mountain slipping and sliding all over the trails because they were wearing regular running shoes designed for the road without any traction. I actually observed one lady taking a very bad spill in to the rocks, she slipped on the wet grass and all just because she was wearing running shoes.

I'm sorry, but i don't have any other words but 'stupid' if you trying to run and up the steep slopes in your everyday running shoes. I love this shoes and planning to wear them for all my spartan races. Salomon has really done a great job with this shoe. It is like the best of the s lab fellcross and the speed cross 3 in a very affordable shoe that has great traction, just the right heel drop, and accommodates a wider foot. For those who have had the pleasure of wearing inov-8 mudclaws this shoe is a less expensive and more on road friendly version.

I've had these shoes for a short period, but have used them for one mud run (warrior dash) as well as several training runs at a local facility. They fit and feel like a regular running shoe but have the well designed lugs/tread on the bottom for ocr. I've not used these for a regular trail run, but imagine they'd be fine over a 'short' distance (3-5 miles) of straight running. The shoes don't really hold mud, but certainly don't drain as quickly as some might like. 5 in most athletic shoes (nike, reebok) so i ordered the same size for the fellraisers.

I took the shoes for a trial run on as many different tests for them as i could find (pavement, grass, gravel, dirt trail, through woods, up and down steep muddy hills, over slick rocks) and they didn't miss a beat. The shoes drained reasonably quickly after landing in puddles, and the lacing system didn't budge at all. Due to the hard lugs on the soles, i wouldn't run long distances on paved trails, but that's not what i bought the shoes for, so not an issue. I hike 2-3 times per week on jagged limestone and sandstone and these shoes have held up magnificently. Buy these shoes with confidence and you will be leaving 5.

Being a competitive runner of over 18 years and never having bought salomon shoes before i did not know what to expect, i will be buying more of their running shoe products in the future. These shoes work great. If your looking for hiking/ trail running shoes these are a good moderate level choice. Overall i like the shoe with a couple of negatives. Pro:- the shoes traction is outstanding, much better the the previous trail running shoes that i used.

I've not had any issues with the laces coming undone and i like how end of the lacing tucks into the pocket on the tongue of the shoe. The design of the shoe is to help keep mud and water out. - the shoe fits a little small and does not come in a wide size. I had to go up to 11 for this shoe to get a better fit. If that's true, i will keep the fellraisers for my non-ocr running shoe.

However, after finally ordering these in the standard width, and doing a few trail runs in them, i love 'em. I generally wear brooks size 12 running shoes. I ordered the size 12 in this shoe, and it fits perfect. I've run about 30 trail miles in these so far and they seem great. These have been my go to shoes for mud runs (aka obstacle course races) for the past 2 years as i'm still using the same pair and i probably do about 10-12 ocr's a year.

These shoes are liking having 4wd for your feet when ascending and descending, steep, slippery, muddy slopes which is exactly what they've been bred for. If you're just looking to run gravel and relatively smooth, non-tehcnical trails, you may want to look at a shoe that may provide a bit more comfort as the ultra aggressive lugs on the fell raiser don't necessarily lend the shoe to the softest of feels, but they are still adequately cushioned. The lace system is small but the shoes stayed tight on my feet even in deep mud. When i got these i was a little unsure why the lugs on the rear of the shoes point opposite of the lugs on the front. A very sharp looking shoe, i enjoy the loud color.

Speed lacing system is a breeze to put on and it feels securefantastic traction on snow covered gravelseemed just a smidge tighter than i like in the forefoot, could be a problem with thick socks (used shoe fitter to size)i have used these on two runs, total distance 18 miles so far. This shoe feels very good on the run. It fit a bit tighter than my other shoes so my only concern is how much room i will have wearing thicker winter socks. I don't do any tough mudders or extreme trail races but instead use these as my go to shoes when coaching my kids in sports. Great So Far!!. Seem to be good quality and fit well. I've done a "navy seal" type workout with sprints, stairs, and burpies. They performed quite well and felt light on my feet. I've also worn them to kick the soccer ball with my kid in the backyard and they performed well in that area also. I plan on using them for more circuit workouts and cross training opposed to trail running. If there are issues i will make an addendum. .

Amazing. Love these shoes. I do anywhere from 5-10 miles a day on my feet at work, and even with insoles. My feet were killing me.I bought these keen shoes and put them through their paces with all aspects of my job and they did great.

I bought some insoles to put in there, but haven't needed to do it yet.

Perfect for the office or job site. I can't believe these are steel toe. I bought these for work because occasionally i go to job sites that require them, but these have become my main pair of work shoes. They're light enough to wear around the office, plus i can easily slip them on and off as they're laced but on a sort of 'quick release' system. Saves me time in the morning.

The perfect summer shoe. Keep in mind, these aren't waterproof, but if your work conditions are usually dry, then this is a great shoe.

I have been buying keen shoes for a few years now and these are my first steel toe from keen. The great things i love about these shoes is the neoprene material on the sides and back of the shoe, this keeps the shoe light and cool. Even with the shoe being very light weight, it still seems to be equally distributed along the shoe, so my toe doesn't feel heavy. The lightest and most comfortable work shoes i've ever worn. Prist is notorious for eating through all sorts of materials, but these shoes have so far stood up to all the abuse of working out at the airport.

With my last pair of shoes i would have to wear long pants during rain to ensure my socks would not be soaking wet with water. However these shoes put your feet a tad higher than most and protect from bigger than average puddles. As with any protective toe shoes (steel or composite) one would expect a wearing in period. I ordered the same size i would have if i was ordering a pair of any of the major brand running shoes. I agonized over picking a steel toe shoe from all the different reviews.

I have to say i am extremely impressed with the look, fit, and quality of this shoe. Keen is the best work shoe money can buy. I have a great pair of timberland pro steel toe work boots that i purchased on amazon last fall. I will still wear the timberlands, but was looking for a low-top work shoe for the summer. I bought these shoes for work, and so far they're the best and lightest steel toe shoes i have ever owned.

After three ten hour days at a new job in old shoes my son needed some new work shoes. He continues to be very pleased with the comfort from these shoes. Overall these are pretty much the best work steel toe shoes you can get. But as others have mentioned they are at least 1/2 size larger than any other shoe you have ever bought at your size. These are great safety shoes for work, but i wish keen offered a more professional looking shoe with the same comfort and quality.

I look silly in these shoes, but at least i am comfortable. I am used to non-steel toe shoes which of course are going to be lighter, but once you put these shoes on the weight disappears. I needed safety shoes to wear during the summers here in afghanistan that were comfortable and did not make my feet sweat. I needed safety shoes/boots for work and i know my feet get very warm in many traditional shoes, so i wanted something that was light and had vents. Very durable shoes, put up with running up and down industrial stairs 6 days a week, 12 hour days for 5 weeks straight, still almost look brand new with the exception of dust and very minor wear marks on the sides after rubbing against the machines quite a few times.

Main selling point could be a little better of a lacing system to keep tounge of the shoe from slipping down all and all i recommend. Needed steel toes for work - love keens - so i go these. To shorten the shoe strings i used a small flat blade screwdriver to open the plastic buckle, cut off a whole lot of extra string, and then used a pair of needle nosed pliers to close the buckle back up. I bought these keen shoes and put them through their paces with all aspects of my job and they did great.I bought some insoles to put in there, but haven't needed to do it yet. I work on my feet for 12+ hours per day in a hot environment and i need to wear comfortable work boots/shoes.

These shoes are light, and comfortable for those days that you just don't feel like wearing your boots. This is my husband's second pair of keen utility work shoes. He stands all day on cement and these are by far the most comfortable and durable shoes he's found in a very long time. I purchased the first pair for him because he never reties his shoes when he puts them on. His doctor verified my concern when he told him that wearing his shoes like that puts undue strain on his knees which, if left unchecked, could lead to permanent damage.

Many of the steel-toed shoes he's worn before are very uncomfortable in the toe box but he says these feel great. To begin with, i have worked industrial construction for twenty years so i'm familiar with all types of steel toe and composite toe footwear. The Best Dr - Oxfords

My favorites for 20 years. My fifth pair of docs, excellent as always. Been wearing them since grad school. Comfortable, stylish, durable. And they have character.

I love them.

Good shoes. Been wearing these for more than a year. They are still in great shape and look like they'll last at least another year. They are comfortable and waterproof (i treat them regularly). I'm pleased with them** update november 2011 **i've been wearing these shoes for four years now, and they are just about done.

The soles are completely worn through and the vinyl around the back of the shoe is pretty trashed, but the leather uppers are still in great shape. I walk a couple of miles every day, so i'm quite pleased with how well these have lasted.

After replacing the original insoles, they're great. There are times when i walk about 4-5 miles per day, so having comfortable shoes is a must for me. I've had my current pair for about 6 months now. These are great shoes. But the original insoles caused quite a few blisters while breaking in - both on the back of the heel and near the ball of my foot.

I've had doc marten's in the past but didn't have these issues back then. I replaced my insoles with a pair of doctor sholls massaging gel work insoles, they are a perfect fit, and they are great on my feet. This is the only reason i rated these shoes 4 stars. I will order again.

My first pair of martens. So the back story here is that i got totally fed up with department store shoes that wore out too quickly. The soles of the last pair of shoes i bought from a shoe 'warehouse' type of store split after only about 3 months. One drizzly day i wondered why my feet were soaking wet after just walking across a parking lot. I inspected the shoes and discovered that the soles had split in half.

So i decided to spend a little more and try my first pair of dr. Martens. So far so good, with one caveat which is that these shoes do show scuff marks pretty easily. If you need a pair of shoes to go with a pair of fancy slacks and a tie, these 'aint it. They are much more casual than that.

I'm pleased with them** update november 2011 **i've been wearing these shoes for four years now, and they are just about done. The soles are completely worn through and the vinyl around the back of the shoe is pretty trashed, but the leather uppers are still in great shape. I have been buying docs for four years now and i am found them to be extremely comfortable and well put together. I am glad that i went with the five eyed pair this time because they are even more secure on my feet than the three eyed pairs i am use to. Most dress shoes are so thin on the bottom that i can't wear them for more than a few hours.

With doc's airwair bottoms i can go all day and that is why i would recommend these shoes to anyone who wants to look classy while feeling great. I have been wearing doc martens for 25 years, all sorts of different designs; i currently have 11 pair in various incarnations and ages. The past pair of 8053s i bought was about 10 years ago and last year they finally gave out after a lot of wear and abuse, though up until they literally fell apart they were still the most comfortable shoes i had. This pair is made in china, but is every bit as comfortable as my long-lasting pair right out of the box. My 1st pair lasted about 5 years and were comfortable from day 1.

Apart from the new tread design (which makes no difference whatsoever) i did notice that the size 11 shoe is larger than the old size 11 and probably more of a true us size than before. Martens, so i was pretty confident when i ordered my 8053 5 eye shoes. However, i pulled out the insoles and slipped in a pair of inexpensive powerstep pinnacle orthotics, and the shoes fit perfectly. The color is a lovely 'mottled' brown that adds to the handmade look, although they may have been cranked out in some shoe factory in unknown lands. One of the shoes arrived with a color-scratched-scuffed mark near the toebox, revealing pale leather, which is an example of rough handling someplace before the item got boxed up.

(this stuff also fixes up scuffs on your ecco reddish-brown boots and any darker brown-red shoes, just fine. The edges of the shoe opening on this model are padded with foam covered bysomething that resembles vinyl, so it may not be real leather. Sizing info is stamped into the inside of the shoe, but see-through plastic stickers with icky glue are stuck on some inside surfaces to tell you it's 'mens' and country of origin for some components. Underneath the inner cover there is a full length plastic inner sole 'frame' (can you call it a frame if it's flat?) that gives the shoe its rigidity. This is a good looking shoe.

But keep in mind it may be a high-maintenance shoe over time. (do this after you apply your shoe wax that maintains the color and hides the scuffs. Just kidding; you only need a glob for each shoe, each winter or rainy seasonfitment: popular comments say to buy slightly large if you must choose to round off. 5, so with the 10 m us, i fit perfectly into the 8053 shoe and have room for thick, comfy socks. The walking action on these shoes is noticeably quieter when compared to my ecco shoes with bumpy trail treads.

Durable, Good Looking, But with a Pinch. I bought these shoes because i had heard that dr. Marten's were durable shoes that would stand the test of time. I've had these for a good while now, and have logged at least one hundred miles of walking in them. I was thrilled when they came. I put them on just the way that they came out of the box. This served me pretty well for a couple of weeks. Then i started to get some serious pain in the top of my right foot. So i tried lacing them the only other way that i knew how. This did not resolve the problem of the pain on the top of my foot. I loosened the laces to the point that i could slip the shoe on and off my foot without tying the shoe, which helped; however, due to the nature of my profession, this is not a safe option in the long term. Eventually through much research, trial, and failure, i eventually found a way to lace up this shoe so that it no longer causes me pain. I have no reason to believe that this is due to any manufacturing defect (of the shoe, that is). The shoe is solidly built, and they appear to be of excellent quality. I'd never had a shoe cause me so much pain before with no known cause. The remedy for my foot pain has been to lace my shoes in the "saw-tooth" method. The shoes are great. Very comfortable, and keep a shine for over a week with heavy wear. I'm already planning to purchase these again when the need arises. .

The Best Teva Men's Tanza Sandal - Sport Sandals

Rugged, comfortable. I needed a shoe for wet landings from zodiaks in galapagos, followed by hiking rough terrain. These worked well. Obviously, any opened toed sandal can pick up sand etc, but it is easy to clear that stuff from these sandals. Also, the 3 velcro straps made it possible to adjust to be comfortable even though i have a bunion.

Good but painful. . I'm conflicted as to what rating i should give these sandals. Pros:they are exactly as described and arrived promptly. They appear to be of very good quality. They were $35 cheaper than the best price i could find at the local sporting goods stores that carried this brand.

They came in a half size. (all of the local sporting goods stores only had this sandal in full sizes for some reason. )cons:they've been tearing my feet to shreds. I realize that any new footwear requires a certain amount of 'break-in'. Sometimes it's my feet that need to be 'broken-in' and not the new footwear.

Dog eat my old ones. These are my third pair of teva. I still use my first pair (10 years old) to mow the lawn. The only reason i had to buy this pair was because our new dog eat my second pair (7 years old). Teva has made a lot of improvements in 7 years, these are very comfortable.

Little tip, i like to buy a size up with teva they seem to run a little small. Bottom line, costly but last forever.

I got in the habit of wearing sandals during a year on an israeli kibbutz in the early 1970s. Having moved, a couple of years ago, from the nyc area to phoenix, i wear sandals almost exclusively during 3 seasons of the year. So there's a lot of experience behind my statement that the basic teva design simply works better than any other sandals. Easy velcro adjustments at heel, ankle and toe, make for a perfect fit, easily adapted when one might wear socks with them for evening wear. Tevas are easier to get in and out of than most sandal designs -- i've got a pair of $250 mbts that are really awkward to put on and their velcro straps can't really be adjusted.

The 'tanza' model is a tad fancier than my older pairs (these are my third pair of tevas over a 12-year period) which were more like the current 'hurricane' or 'monsone' designs. I've had a pair of teva sandals for many years, and alas the time came to replace them. Well, i was pleasantly surprised at how much improvement teva has made since i bought the last pair. It has been many months since i bought this pair of teva sandals. As you can read below, i love my gray pair, and actually purchased a second pair in black to alternate between the gray and black sandals.

When i looked for this pair on amazon, i found them for much less $$ than city sports, at $56 delivered () so of course i bought a pair. Let me tell you - these sandals are everything i described and more.

The only slight downside that i experienced was the burnt rubber smell that came off the sandals when i first took them out of the box - it wasn't great. But since the sandals were so comfortable when i tried them on, i decided to give them a chance despite the smell, and about four or five days later, the smell evaporated into practically nothing, and i'm totally, completely pleased with the sandals. The sandals are awesome and are much cheaper online. These are definitely worth the extra money when comparing to cheaper models. Great sandal, tough and comfortable no leather to get hard and hurt your feet. (all of the local sporting goods stores only had this sandal in full sizes for some reason.

I've had new, leather, steel toed combat boots that feel like they're made out of expensive memory foam when compared to these teva sandals. I ended up walking back to my car barefooted because my feet were abraded inside of ten minutes while wearing these. This time i took a pair of my old running shoes along in a day pack so that i could switch out of the sandals if i felt i needed to. I then went so far as to drive 80 miles to a large outfitters store in minneapolis to ask for advice on how i might better adjust the velcro straps on these sandals hoping that that may solve my problem. (i did learn that there are a few tricks to getting a good fit with these sandals.

I just didn't expect sandals to be more complicated to adjust, than other footwear, in order to get a good fit. ) i've had these sandals for a little over a month now and i just finished my 4th 'break-in' walk of about a mile. They appear to be a very durable sandal for a great price. I have several friends that swear by their teva's and have been wearing and abusing their same pairs for years. Best sandals ever.

A few years ago you could get sandals with wide comfortable straps, now i have trouble finding them. In summary i'd say these sandals are the right size but still don't fit correctly. I'm 6'2' 320lbs with size 13 feet, so i can't get away with wearing cheap little flip flops. While these teva's are rugged with good arch support and are fairly good looking they leave my feet hurting after a relatively short time. Bought the hurricane xlt, tanza, and terra fi 4 sandal to comparehurricane xlt: found the xlt's to be simply unwearable for any considerable amount of time.

Very pricey as all tevas are but since i buy sandals maybe once every 5-10 years i'd consider it a good investment if they hold up. I'll give the sandals 5 stars if they last another year. The sandals seem to be solidly constructed, and still look nearly new after half a dozend creek hikes. I wear sandals almost all the time. If you spend a lot of time in sandals like i do you want a good fit, good support and a good price.

I still have my echos and frankly i can't tell the difference between the echo and the teva unless i look to see what i'm wearing. I wear them all day long, walking and standing, and at the end of the day, i have no pain in my feet, legs, nor my back. I just hope teva does not ever discontinue this tile. I like these sandals. Go with thes sandals and your regular shoe size. During the summer i live in sandals outside work.
